Very nicely written and I completely agree with you. I think, whether it is a liberal or a conservative, both should be concerned with the well being of our people and country. The problem with our liberals is that some of them give the impression of plane rebels against society and country. It’s good to be a rebel in so many ways, but I think even a liberal has to draw a line somewhere. When there is no line, then each liberal start labeling the other as conservative, because there is always one person more liberal than the other.
I have friends in US and the majority of them believe that killing innocent people, by the name of collateral damage, in drone attacks is wrong and it should be stopped. But I have heard many of our liberals saying it’s not such a big deal, and there are more important issues to be addressed than this. Clearly these liberals have no feelings for the people living in the mountains and think of them as animals. I see NFP making fun of Imran Khan most of the time for his stance on Drone attacks in our tribal areas. I am not a fan of Imran Khan either and I don’t really like how he sounds like an extension of Jumaat-i-Islami some time, but when he talks against Drone attacks I think we should at least admire him for that. I don’t understand how can a Pakistani liberal think like a US conservative.
A liberal should be a reformer, he should not just sound like a US a** kisser but someone who can change the people. This he can only do by coming close to the people and addressing them with respect. Gandhi was a true liberal, he was a true reformer. Jinnah was a liberal, he stood up for those who could not stand for themselves. Our so-called liberal would say F Islam and Pakistan, and this way they try to sound cool, so how can you expect them to do any good for the society and country. I, myself believe that Pakistan should become a secular state, and in my capacity I express my opinion through whatever way possible. I think that the reason our people are suffering is because of their own faults, but to bring a positive change in the society, you shouldnt just try to sound cool and think your job is done.

چلے ڈھونڈنے کو۔۔۔

چلے ڈھونڈنے کو

The question was “what is the best democratic system that suits the people of Pakistan?” Some said the american democratic system and some came up with the indian democracy but

I think Indian democratic system is very much the same to the system in Pakistan. And I really don’t think that American democratic system is workable in Pakistan, as in Pakistan am pretty sure that the conflicts between President and Senate will kind of freeze the whole democratic system as by nature our politicians move slowly unlike the US politicians who keep on moving on. I dont see a flaw in the prevailing system, as I don’t see any flaw in any political system in the world. The only problem is the mentality of the people, they are always the ones who fail the system. Not just in Pakistan but around the world. I mean communism in the book is like the most amazing system, but it crashed. At the moment, democratic or non-democratic, we need a leader or a non-religious kind of messiah who can just correct the people of this country. People need to change the way they think. These people don’t just need know about their problems but also need to know about the solutions.

Just recently US was on the verge of a huge economic recession, it is still going on through a bad time but it wasn’t just Obama who came with a magic spell to correct the mistakes made in the past but the people who voted them stood up to even support him. Many people changed their lifestyles upon his request and that helped them get out of the problem. Our problems are much worst. We are being killed by the hands of both Taliban and US but most of all we are getting killed a slow death by our own hands, and its not even that slow.

There’s a massive population of corrupt people, and each of them has the capability do do much worst than Zardari or any other corrupt politician if they are given a chance. So you adopt any kind of system in this country and it will fail.

So coming back to the same point, it’s about time a leader needs to step up and correct these people. Stand in a public rally and tell them what is there contribution to the problems falling on their heads each and every day. Tell them issues like Afia Siddiqui and Raymond Davis are much smaller than seeing their children and old parents being suffered in unimaginably long hours of loadshedding. And how their own lifestyle is responsible for these long hours of loadshedding. Our people look at a con-artist faking as a beggar in the street and they give him five or ten rupees thinking they have done their good deed, not realizing if they can save a little on their electricity and pay bills regularly, they could save millions of people and most of all their own selves. It always comes back to you in the end.

from charsadda on Flickr. This is one of my most favorite...

from charsadda on Flickr.

This is one of my most favorite photographs I’ve taken.

WHERE WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO VISIT ON YOUR PLANET?

Egypt!

1 on Flickr.

1 on Flickr.

rizphotography1 on Flickr.

rizphotography1 on Flickr.

zameendaar on Flickr.

zameendaar on Flickr.

DSCN2316 on Flickr.

DSCN2316 on Flickr.

I have the copyrights to use this song.
kalabagh dam nahi banna chahye

hamara mulk aik mushkil daur say guzar raha hai

adliya azad honi chahye

hamara mulk islam ka qila hai

Amreeka kay azayem khatarnak hain

Hamaray masayel ka zimmay daar amreeka hai

and that’s probably it! but no one addresses the real issues. And who’s to blame? The politicians? Well, I blame it mainly on the people, cos these are the lines used to fool our people. The people don’t even seem to know what the real problems are. And there is a complete lack of leadership.

I was watching this new video by Ali Azmat and it looked like Zaid Hamid directed his video. US and other super powers are responsible for the problems we are in. But the reality is that the problems we are in is because of our own selves. We have prioritized the non-issues. Our liberals sound like lame wannabes and our conservatives take this country as a test lab for their ideas.

We die in bomb blasts on daily basis but yet we don’t own to this war against terror. Our energy crisis have hit it’s worst ever yet we take out our frustrations only by sending jokes to each other concerning Zardari’s sisters. Our media keeps lying to us, and our people are made fools each and every hour.

When light goes, people either turn on their generators or UPS or even just sit outside in a shade and start discussing Osama’s death. The problems in the country sadly don’t suffocate the people but instead makes them laugh about them.

These people don’t even need a leader for themselves. They are numb from both inside and outside. Obviously when a good leader will come when there is a need for him to come, which there isn’t in our country. When the poor is happily subsidizing the rich and the rich is happy being subsidized, there is no way a good leader is ever going to come. A leader who has a better vision. A leader who is not a war-monger yet not so weak to give in to every demand of the US, a leader who is brave enough to change this entire system. A leader, who will address the real issues instead of small issues such as Afia Siddiqui being our sister or not. A leader who can shake hands with the world leaders and can make friends internationally. A leader who can make use of our own resources. A leader who can pay attention to our education system and increase the education budget. A leader who is brave enough to control this army and not let them make their own decisions. Who cares if Zulfiqaar Ali Bhutto’s death was justified or unjust, who cares if Afia Siddiqui was innocent or a terrorist, who cares one bit about all these non-issues? well, apparently, our people do care, and as long as they do, they will get what they deserve, a change is never going to come.
